Blogging has become hugely popular in recent years and for good reason. Blogs are extremely easy to set up and can be monetized in a number of ways. So can you make money from blogging? The short answer is a definite yes!
The first step is to choose a market and decide what you are going to blog about. Blogs can be created on any subject under the sun, and sometimes the best money making blogs may not be in markets you expect.
Once you’ve chosen a market it’s time to set up your blog. You need to choose a blogging platform, the most popular and well known being WordPress.org, although there are other options such as Blogger, which works slightly differently. In most scenarios I would recommend WordPress.org.
When you have your blog (remember you will also need hosting and a domain name if you’re using WordPress.org) the next stage is to customize it. You need to make your blog look nice and professional - and the easiest way to do that is to choose from the many themes which are available, many for free.
If you want to make money from your blog you now need to monetize it. There are a number of options available, with popular methods including Google Adsense, CPA, text links and promoting your own products (or those which you are acting as an affiliate for).
A blog isn’t a blog without content, so you need to get posting useful information which is relevant to your market. The best blogs are fun to read and contain good info – have a read of other blogs in your area to get a feel for the sort of content they post.
You will also need traffic. One of the easiest ways to do it is to leave comments on other peoples blogs. Engage in the conversation and get to know other blog owners and their visitors.
